MUSIC

Music I have covered, arranged, or composed.

Detective Conan

One of my favourite covers so far, the Detective Conan theme, covered by me on Alto, Tenor and Baritone.

This one was quite a challenge, the Alto solo was rather tricky, with long fast semiquaver runs for a bar or more - may not sound much but it was rather tricky to get it how I wanted it to.

It took around 2 days to record and edit, but I felt it was more than worth it in the end, especially happy with the Baritone part.

The sheet music however took 2 days to cut, stick, write, edit - the whole shebang. Luckily now I never have to do it again.

National Park - GSC

A childhood favourite of mine, National Park from Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal.

This piece really evoked something within me, it was just such a smooth sweet tune that filled me with determination and self belief to become the best trainer in the region of Johto.

I especially like this cover due to the tenderness and emotive dynamics and phrasing. Credit to DreadedMusician for providing me with the sheet music for it, check him out!

Recently updated with a Mastered Version, though still welcome to check out the older version!

Littleroot Town

My first public cover. Notice the terrible audio quality and microphone set-up, sheesh.

I was rather proud of this one, as I arranged it myself, and the fact I had finally done a 4 part peice all by myself and it actually sounded half decent!

Strangely this is my most popular video (probably due to it being the oldest), and I hope that changes, i am not a massive fan of how I did it! Especially without a Baritone, seems so empty in the bottom end - I endeavour to redo it to a better quality.

Petalburg City

Cute little Alto duet I quickly bashed together the morning before recording this. Annoyingly this took more than one attempts due to my awful camera balancing skills and the lack of actually pressing record on my computer multiple times.

Megalovania

Ah. This one. I was most dissapointed as to how this came out in the end. I was rushing to meet the schedule of one video a week by trying to cram in three in that one weekend whilst I was borrowing the Baritone Saxophone, and in preparation to the next few weeks of final exams.

I will most likely repeat this one in the near future to a better quality.

Determination

The second peice I made to feature my mighty student Soprano Saxophone. Hence the student title it has, you can really tell with the tuning - absolutely dire. I have tried other Soprano's and found my tuning is absolutely fine, mine was very cheap but does the job to a pretty decent standard (when not playing low F or a middle C or C#).

Regardless, I enjoyed the production of it, and hope to do more Undertale covers in the future! Quite a tune I must say, does as the title suggests.

Love Yourself

Every teenage male's favourite artist, the man they all truly aspire to one day become - Justin Beiber.

All jokes aside, this song is quite a good one at that, his album 'Purpose' was a good new direction to him, really opening the eyes to many of his haters to his actual talents as a singer, his diversity shining through - exactly what has got him to where he is today.

Diamond State Rag

This quirky peice by Bruce Evan's is the first peice my Quartet played in the Dordogne just outside Cadouin Abbey.

Being our first peice played in the open to the French, the nerves got to us massively, and as can be heard, a few slip ups of notes.

More than a few times, the infamous G# key blessed me with its notorious stickiness and the key refused to open - the pain.

Regardless of this, we had an amazing time, playing the first of many peices of our repitoire.

Fly Me to the Moon

The absolute classic peice, Fly Me to the Moon, famously sung by Frank Sinatra (composed by Cecil Mack & James P. Johson), this peice was another favourite of ours to play, having only played it a few times prior to performing, we made a incredibly good attempt, and came out with a very convincing and accurate rendition.

The arrangement of this peice was by Jack Gale.

Lupin III '80

A piece i have loved for a long time and have endeavoured to do myself, Lupin III '80 Theme. I am a huge fan of the quirky show that is Lupin III (or should i say Roopan?), and have always loved this specific theme.

Its a real shame that the recording quality and audio quality is not so good but these things happen.

Mos Eisley Cantina Theme

An absolute classic piece, this 'Jizz' (Star Wars parallel to our Jazz) is bouncy, light and incredibly silly.

Really disappointed in the recording quality, however it was not my equipment so i cannot be held responsible!

Auld Lang Syne

On the fine fine New Years, I said to myself:

"I am going to do an Auld Lang Syne multitrack".

And so I did! This is my 6 part Auld Lang Syne cover. Overall I'm pretty happy with, though there are some points I'd love to go over and do again.

Arranged and performed by me, did this a few hours before Midnight struck - jeez I really put pressure on myself there.
